That is not correct. B type stars are hotter than A and have clear hydrogen lines - just not as strong as A.

Does anyone know what DSO "G1" is referring to?

Globular Cluster G1 in Andromeda.

O.K., this is confusing, so can you bring a binder/piece of paper that holds information? If so, whats the limit or the rules on that. I know every event varries and I have several events to do...a binder or something would really help out.

Small pox: rather than books about galaxies, I would suggest reading the wikipedia article and just clicking on the hyperlinks for anything you don't understand. This is better because A) books don't have hyperlinks, B) books cost money, and C) you can't take books into the competition for reference on things you forget, but you can take wiki articles, either printed out in your binder or in your laptop.

are we allowed to bring more than 1 laptop/binder per team (since the manual says "each team member is permitted...a programmable calculator and either a laptop...or one 3-ring binder") ?

Because this was bolded to contrast with last year's rules which only permitted each team to bring one resource, I would assume that a two-person team will now be allowed to bring two resources (laptops or binders).

Each team can bring two resources- each of those can either be a binder or a laptop, but it doesn't matter which. It was supposed to be this way last year too, but they didn't tell us until we got into the room where the test was being held at nationals last year, so it was a little too late.

That was a quite amusing moment, if I do say so myself.
