Regionals was Saturday :D I placed 3rd in Bio-Process, improving by 3 places from last year. It was the same test (lazy GVSU...)
There was a lot of stuff we had to do, like using spectrometers and timing temperature differences with alkaseltser tablets and water, then graphing it. It was fun, and there was stuff about food labels and M&Ms where we got to eat some of them :D. The only thing I didn't fully understand was the interpreting of owl pellet stuff...

I don't know about other states, but in Indiana, Bio-Process is a real joke of an event. I've come in first this year, at state--but without very much studying at all; I got the event at the last moment. The tests just aren't "knowledge-based" at all; they're mostly about rather simple things like using a pedigree, or Mendelian genetics, or a triple-beam-balance, or food-chain/web use, or pH paper. Timed stations were used, which seems to be the standard. But there wasn't anything particularily challenging that somebody couldn't solve using logic/intuition alone. I wonder what Nationals will do in the event....it has plenty of potential for a very interesting and challenging tets.

What types of indicators do we have to know?

They kinda changed regionals since they dont have the different lab experiments anymore....now they just have stations with questions...

Did anybody else who took the test for PA states find the plant dichotomous keys difficult? I don't think my partner and I got a single one right.

sorry this is kinda late but the papers that the leaves were backed on told you the first answer, and the rest was just what i could figure out by general knowledge

What sort of things do you need to know for Bio-Process?

Everything about biology! And science labs in general, like equipment and stuff. Start with the basics though. Are you going to nationals? If so then it's kinda funny that you're asking that kind of question 3 days before the competition XD
