Why would their studying routine be altered specifically for nationals? I don't see why the fact that their state tournament is held late can hinder their performance at nationals if they make it. If they have performed in high quality environments, why would anything change for nationals?

Someone who studied for a test two weeks before the test date or someone in one week?
Most likely the one with two weeks. Same thing happens with teams with early states and later states.

The teams who have a month to prepare might do better than those who are late. But it really depend show the team is.

If you read the forums last year, many of teams spent time researching and finding tests/material/other study material for events based on the ES for nationals. There is also the expectation that the nationals tests be harder (which is not always true but) and some events have expanded topics for nationals that some ESs may make a larger portion of the event than would be expected.

I posted the link when they were released Monday before Nationals - although, looking through past lists makes it pretty easy to guess most of them.

Where is Mountain View, Albany, and Palo Alto? Or are they not on this list because you expect Mira Loma to beat them at NorCal State?

I consider Mira Loma the most likely winner, although I agree that Albany or Mountain View have a chance. I don't think Paly has much of a shot at winning this year.

The National Tournament should be modified to invite at least a few wildcard teams like Albany or Mountain View. These teams are better than most at Nationals AND by going to Nationals it would give them a better chance to win their state tournament the following year.

The same can be said about teams such as Seven Lakes, Clements, Centerville, Mentor, WWP South, Montgomery, etc.
