Seeing that time is running out, I protect myself because clocks have faces (whythelongface). Idk - I have no idea who to protect.

I just have this clue another look and I have an idea!

“All that stands between me” seems like wordplay to me: “Malle”. Malleable? Something like that?

Nine little Soldier Boys sat up very late;
One overslept himself and then there were eight.

Mrs. Owen wrote:Nine guests fall asleep that night. Only eight awake.

Alex-RCHS finds her first. Unable to wake her, he calls everybody else to her room. It was all too easy to sneak that chloral hydrate into her water. They place a mirror under her nose; they feel for her pulse, feel the clammy cold of death. Two deaths. I listen as the bewildered guests begin to turn on one another. I feel the satisfaction of a job well done; after all, Fibonacci924 had it coming to her! The death of her mistress, all those years ago - did she think that she could escape us, just because she escaped the law?

It’s dragonfruit35 that first checks the wall of the dining room. There are only eight…
Mr. Owens wrote:These foolish officers think we are going to lay out all the puzzle pieces. Ha! We’re not stupid! They must prepare for quite a game. Sigh, people these days…

Emily Dickinson once stated, “Faith is a fine invention”. Our guests still believe that they will leave this island alive. They have no idea, apparently, of the horrors that await them. We will make them pay for their crimes, one by one, with their lives. From a distance, I can detect the cheery song of a scarlet tanager. It’s a sunny day, but I can feel the low pressure. The storm is coming.

The target is probably CVMSavalachestudent because of the n's removed from the post, and the fact that most people thought the name was CVMSavalanchestudent.

In addition, it seems to reference a lot of his posts, including the infamous "I'm not stupid" and "People these days..."

I protect CVMSAvalacheStudent because of the reasoning above.

This is the Emily Dickinson poem:
“Faith” is a fine invention
For Gentlemen who see!
But Microscopes are prudent
In an Emergency!

Also, the scarlet tanager is a bird from the cardinal family found in the eastern US.

I live in NC, in the Eastern US, where the state bird is the cardinal. I also do Microbe Mission (hence the microscopes). It's possible that the clue refers to me, although I certainly think that CMVSavalachestudent is a better protect.

CMVSavalachestudent seems like the right protect, but just in case, I protect Alex-RCHS.

Sigh, it seems that our brilliant plan has been averted...
Mr. Owens wrote: As I prepared my next murder on my most beloved guests, the alarm systems went off, and a security transmission informed me that CVMSAvalacheStudent had been taken away by the cunning officers.
You may laugh now, but beware, for the future shall hold even graver outcomes for the residents...
Mrs. Owens wrote: As our plans take root, I begin to wonder how the officers must feel... The tastefully bland murders lately must've bored them. Never fear! As scormful as we are, we must do our best to make sure our guests have a grand time!
Good luck.

Good luck.[/quote]

Considering the misspelling of scornful, and use of the word grand, it might indicate it has to do with someone from Grand Haven.
