Woah, woah, woah, why would they use CaCO3? I mean... saltwater.. is where salt is the solute... which is NaCl....

SALT means a metal and a nonmetal in an ionic bond. Table salt is a special salt, NaCl.

CaCO3 is also known as limestone, or calcite. It is also a salt, just not table salt.
