I personally know both Munster coaches (as in both the coach that left and the coach that is still there), and I honestly still wouldn't underestimate Munster. Even tho the one that left was a great one during his time there, the coach that I know that is still there is also great at what he does, and that's why they were such a strong team from 2013-2015. I mean, yes, the team is only as good as its competitors (the 2013-2015 Munster people were god-tier - I know this because I knew and have even met several of them), but a great coach can definitely have a huge influence on the competitors themselves as well.
tbh i think especially for div c teams, the competitors determine the strength of a team much more than the coaches. So Im not sure if the loss of a coach really affected munster. I think the main challenge munster will face will be winning unstacked, as it seems to be the consensus that this is what theyre doing.
That’s definitely true of student-driven teams, but I actually don’t think Munster has historically been that way, based on my conversations with the coach that left (we’re really close friends, actually, bc he coached one year at Carmel which was my senior year) - he told me that when he was at Munster, him and the other coach ran the team, more or less. In coach-driven teams, obv the coach has much, much more influence on team performance than you may think even tho the students are the more direct source of team strength.
I personally feel that though our coach was a source of much knowledge and much spirit, losing him hasn't really hurt us as much as one might think. While we all wish he hadn't left, his absence doesn't really make us work less hard or perform less well. The only real change that I have noted is that jobs he typically does have been split among the other coach and the captains--not a state-losing change at all. It seems to me that we are still as strong as we ever were, even without him.
(Of course, this is just my view. Others on the team may feel different.)

As another Munster member, I would have to agree with this. I have a tremendous amount of respect for our coaches and their contributions to the team, but most of that is on the logistics end. All of our events are done by our competitors with very little to no help at all. Not to say they don't help us, but that's just not how we operate. We all know what we have to do, and we put in the work to do that. We perform well because of our dedication and the amount of work we put in, not because of assistance from our coaches (not to say they aren't valuable, just not valuable in this way).

Lol if I was competing with any team it would be my alma mater. But yes I will be supervising. I am not allowed to disclose what event I will be supervising but i'll be sure to let you all know who I am after state.

I’m not sure I am close friends with two of munsters coaches and they say you are competing since they lost a “valuable member.” Not to mention I also have many friends from the 2013-2015 Munster teams.
