That sort of thing doesn't work when you only have 14 members. It also doesn't work if you don't have many experienced members, or if your B team doesn't have 9th graders (ours doesn't).

Well said. Except our high school coaches aren't really hopeful. I think our coaches have given up on trying to go to nationals because for a long time now, that has been the attitude of a majority of the team. And that's probably why Stroudsburg never makes it to nationals anymore. At least we haven't for a while now..

Hmmm did you cut the bad members to make that team? That's interesting, we always have a full team and a few understudies, so a few not so good members make the team. The high school team is more like, "let's get as many people competing for experience and so we don't leave anyone out" instead of "let's only keep the dedicated team members so we can have the best team possible".

We're still pretty good though, so I'm not complaining. I mean if all of a sudden we made it to nationals I don't know where we'd get the money anyway, since I'm pretty sure our teams have close to no budget at all.

I think that if we worked endlessly for the next three weeks leading up to state, we might get a trophy. I'm hoping we can pull it together.

Our school feels that we have the best chance this year then we ever have had before. I think we will win... but so does... the other team... We have exactly 2 weeks to state.

Often, in bigger states, the teams that win have science olympiad classes at their schools and stuff like that, which gives them a big advantage over teams that don't
