Re: Texas 2010
it's like bottle rocket, you hace to launch a 2L rocket and safely bring down an egg without cracking it, whoever keeps the egg in the air the longest wins. Here's the scioly thread: http://scioly.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php? ... 62&start=0

at cypressfalls Robert:
Obviously, you love science and fail at English. The person only said that as an hyperbole.
Also, due to the laws of physics, there is practically no way the rocket can stay aloft for that long.

Re: Texas 2010
It might have stayed in the air that long. Usually when that kind of thing happens, it is because it caught a freak draft and flew away out of sight, so it actually stayed up even longer than five minutes and they couldn't even see when it landed, so they just arbitrarily gave them enough time to ensure a win. Or maybe Conally just has amazing eggonaut skills and made a helicopter or something. Don't be bitter that they beat you.
Also how many events were there at that competition where Beckendorff got 24 points?

Re: Texas 2010
True, and, smarticle, our coach is planning on doing the same thing. maybe. possibly.srsvball95 wrote:We have 9th graders because we want to make it to Nationals this year after being so close last year. And technically, it's division B which is 6-9 not 6-8. Plus, our high schoolers are extremely hardworking and they want to be a part of Beckendorff Science Olympiad. It's a personal choice if you want to do divsion b or c.smarticle13 wrote:I don't really get why beckendorff has 9th graders on their team. When I go into 9th, I wouldn't want to represent a school that I do not attend.
Also, does anyone have the results from the Tarleton Regional in Stephenville?

Re: Texas 2010
Sorry for the double post, but congrats to Beckendorff and Riverwood! It looks like everyone from Katy ISD is going to state (except west mo)!
