I'm with Alpha on this one, you should rig a spring to the launch mechanism so it goes back into place and doesn't fall outside the cube.

Hitting the Far Target
Hmmm...I guess I need to take the close target into account when I'm aiming for the far target. The close target will be elevated up to 2m by a table or something of that nature. So when I launch the ball to the far target at a low angle, it might hit the table or whatever of the close target. So... it would be best if I launch to the far target at a relatively high angle....right?

I would make sure that you can hit the closest possible floor level target after the closest possible target at the maximum height, and the same for your farthest targets. For example, set one target at a distance of 2m with a height of 2m and the other at a distance of 4m on the ground. Do the same for 8m distance and 10m distance, since that's just as hard, if not harder, than a close blind shot.
But, yes, that would mean launching the ball at a high angle. Don't try to get it under the first target because they may (most likely will) have a solid support structure that would obstruct the far target.

I'd say hardest an event coordinator could do would be 2 meters at 2 meters high and 10 meters

2m at 2m high for the close target with the far target at 10 m would probably be the "hardest." It would require the most launch velocity to clear the near target and hit the far target.

Actually, by that reasoning I would argue that 8m 2m high would be "harder" because this requires an even higher launch angle in order to hit 10m, because the ball leaves your trajectory at some height most of the time, but they are both very close. 2m 2m high , 4 m is a pain just because you have to have a very large angle, whereas the previously mentioned shot requires a large angle and power.andrewwski wrote:2m at 2m high for the close target with the far target at 10 m would probably be the "hardest."
