haha, very nice. And I wish they asked us what dihydrogen monoxide was, that would have been easier than the questions we had.

It was more chem based. We were asked to find chloride and carbonate ions in the soil (carbonate fizzes with acid and chloride forms a precipitate with silver nitrate). Except we couldnt isolate a solution from the soil, but thats another story.
They also asked a few questions on what plants could live in which soils (some random ones, like peppers, peanuts, and even mushrooms, which are fungi). Then we got questions on soil texture, as well as a few on mineral composition.
There was also effect of nutrients. The last station involved a mass spectrograph, and chlorine ions. No pesticide questions, which was kinda lame cause that's what i knew best, and thats really all i remember. There was more, but i dont remember what else they asked.

Check out the practice test on the national website if you go to nats. My bet is that your test will be (possibly unfortunately) VERY similar.

Our test was basically all of these questions about the Jones's. We had to find the loam percentage of the soil, pH, all of these macro and micro nutrients etc. We got 9th out of 24 at states, but no shiny medals *sniff*
Hmmm... I wonder what this unmarked, glowing red button does? *push* Huh... no... Wait.. NO DON'T EXPLODE... XP<br>

Do the tests get progressively harder as you go from regionals to states to nationals?
