That's an issue I had with my VEX robot for Robot Ramble as well. It's cus of all the metal, If your antenna is high above everything else then it should be better. It was interesting to see what happens when you touch the antenna on the remote to the metal on the bot while both were ON.

That happened to our past vex as well. And it is because controllers from the vex kit can control any other vex receiver, so it most likely is just someone else with another vex nearby.

What happens when you replace he crystals?
All it does is change the frequency at which it is used right?
