at ny states they used a peg board with pegs, rubberbands, washers, and paperclips

Thats a wierd set of materials. Somebody did mention that they used random stuff for the first time ever in New York. Apparently, before they used stuff like legos and knex.

Googolplex is the building toy that's been used at Nationals for the past two years. It's sort of hard to describe- thin plastic sticks with a short peg sticking out of one side and some form of connector are the main pieces. It was basically a "teacher's toy", used for demos and in elementary schools, but the company that made it stopped selling them a few years ago. For some reason, they have them in Ohio and practice with them there. Pretty much nobody else has them.

Not especially hard, but it's always harder to write directions for something you're not familiar with.
