I think the point of assassination games are for enjoyment as a small side event (We all have very busy lives). I really think that most people don't care about these games enough to dedicate time going through a training process. Just my two cents. I don't know, maybe it's only me who feels that way.

True. (Unless you have no life, like me

)
Should we have a thread just for Sassy game feedback and ideas?

We had one a while back. It did not work out very well.

We never needed training before. The fault lies in the fact that none of you are up to caliber or that you just don't care. If you participate in a sassy game, you need to dedicate yourself to it. When I was sassy, I didn't have a computer for two of the months I was playing. I didn't let that stop me. On the occasions that I did have a computer, I pretyped all scenarios and had Randy post for me. I worked on those clues. Some of them took weeks to come up with. I dedicated myself to the game, but what was sad was that
none of you tried for the sassy game like I did.
To the point: Training not necessary. If you want to play the game properly, you have got to try and have some semblance of intellect. Why do you think my entire game was a rampage against the idiocies of the players?
Kokonilly wrote:My humble opinion is that the age range of the players in these games has gone down. The really good players - brobo, Dox, zyzzyva, Randy, etc. - have either left the site, gotten too busy, or lost interest altogether. The players now don't put enough effort into the game. And I'm not sure how to fix that.
Randy and Z are technically no longer allowed to play because of their magic mod-ness. As for brobo, he's been around, but he decided to not do anything because the officers were pure crap and he didn't feel like putting forth the effort.

I tried pretty hard at your Sassy game! I actually stayed up to 11 pm at Mackinac Island working on a clue when I was a guest officer!
Even though I protected by protected by luck and did a pretty horrible job the rest of the game I tried!

That's what an officer is supposed to be like! They keep trying with passion, no matter what! I can't believe it took me that long to think of it, though.
And I think I know who the Sassy is.

Can I make a proposal to help make sure we have more experienced read:not sucky like the new ones to be officers this next game.
Alright, good.
New rule 1: All officers must have been officers for more than 5 games.
New rule 2: All officers must be older than foreverphysics.

No offense, but that's a terrible idea. Consider this scenario:
There's this guy. He loves puzzles, and is very good at them. He joins this site. He sees this game. He wants to join in, but finds those two rules. He has obviously never played the game before, and has absolutely no clue who foreverphysics is. This stinks for everyone, because he would have been a great officer. He may not ever want to play this game, because he thinks the people who play it have something against new users.
And we only get better through practice. How many correct protections did you get on your first try?
If we want officers to be better, we need to encourage dedication. And flippin' civillian help! No more,"This clue was so easy, you guys are so stupid for not getting it." That does not help us at all, in fact, it weakens us.

I said "this next game" not every game. But... we kinda do have something against new users...
Honestly, my first time as officer was the game winner accused koko in like an hour so I did not protect anyone.
EDIT: but everyone knows forever.

You can get very good practice as a civilian, solve the clues first before the officers and show them up. I agree with Littleboy, if we want to bring the games back up we need some good officers. I for one will try to become an officer whenever the new game starts. Oh and I got several correct protections and won in my first game

If you want good officers but at the same time give opportunities to smart new users, why not just make the officer clue harder and not allow random volunteers to take over for a busy officer?
Also, I thought the training idea was okay, but instead of making it a mini-assassinator game, just do questions and answers. The first person posts a clue, and whoever gets the answer first gets to post another clue.

I thought civilians weren't allowed to help...
