I guess it would depend if it is an updraft, or downdraft. It may also cause your rocket to nose dive and not backslide(if that's what your aiming for). It also depends on how your rocket is constructed. The more drag it will have coming down the more an updraft might help it. It's very risky and I think wind is known to unbalance the rocket more than it keeps it into the air.

Yeah. It depends on the rocket's structure.

well for my nose cone, I take a cynder block and hot glue it too my bottle. I found that using no fins or 384544449346193 works best because the both act/are nothing sticking out.
If you do not believe me, then don't. I refuse too tell my designs. So sorry for this lie.

What did the 30-second rockets look like? Don't worry; I'm not going to Nats.

The most effective design this year has been the backslider which will always (if it is a working backslider) be a fairly long (or super long) bottle rocket that is as lightweight as possible with the center of balance put halfway in between the center of pressure and center of lateral area. However, there may be some adjustments to adapt the rocket to certain weather conditions.

Edit: Never mind. I misread the question.

What do you guys think a great design would be for a bottle rocket?

No, those aren't fun to watch. At states, I saw one that looked like a missel. It went up a few hundred feet and then strait down a few feet from where it was launched. It was loud.
