Definitey agree. I attended both 2015 and 2016 Nationals, and I felt 2016 did a better job of organizing the tournament and creating a good atmosphere in general. The free outdoor wifi all over campus was also appreciated. Hope that Wright State will keep up the good work this year.
Wow maybe I'm just being self-flagellating here, but I thought nats in 2016 could not even begin to compare to 2015. The opening and awards ceremony got so hot, I thought I was going to suffocate and die in there.
There are definitely things that I thought were better in 2015 - the tournament program booklet and (as you mentioned) the heat during opening/awards come to mind - but I found almost everything else better in 2016 (do you remember the types of music they played in 2015?)
lol I was do busy stressing about my events to notice the music. Also, do you know how high the gym for WS is?

At Wright State for Nationals this year? Apparently the gym used in 2013 for ELG was 46 feet, so it might be the same one used this year

They used the smaller gym in the Student Unionr for the Invitation on Saturday. The ceiling height was about 22 ft to the bottom of the lights and other obstructions. I do not know if they will go back to the big gym at the Nutter Center for Nationals. Holding building events at the Nutter Center is problematic as it is not really an easily walkable distance between there and the academic events if you have back to back events.

Pretty much all the rooms we used this weekend for the invitational are the same ones we'll use for the National Tournament in May.

When will the tournament website be updated with info such as event schedules/room numbers/event supervisors etc? It's incredibly barebones right now.

Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I feel like last year, the website had a ton of info on it super early.

^^^

Having all of the event supervisors on there last year was great. The website last year was probably the best nationals website I've seen (though 2011 is close).

Yeah I was blown away as well by the quality of last year's nationals all around (minus the heat wave at the ceremonies)

They did indeed have a impressive website last year. It's going to be a while yet before the WSU one is updated.

Aww man, I remember that. All of us in our Dress cloths sweating away, we all played Drive Ahead for the majority of the time.
