Greetings from camp! It's only the second day, but it's been so awesome, you know except for the whole getting soaked from the rain while walking to dinner yesterday(some people still have wet shoes...). We've already covered 5 events, but it's so cool.

First, AWESOME avatar.

Second, from what I've seen, most of the Science Olympiad camp's PR is done in Indiana. However, now that you know about it, go! It's an awesome time!

Day 3 of camp; already rained on twice since the last storm. Turns out one camper is from a school that was banned from this site. She seems very nice though. Oh yes; we had a huge bolt of lightning hit within FEET of the building last night. One robot under construction consists of a huge meat cleaver-like piece of steel that's sure to kill someone by the week's end.

This week is all HS kids. No more constant reminders to wear pants and goggles to lab, close and lock doors, not lose keys and meal tags, etc.

AlchemyRocks just (like now!) showed me the warning on her lab goggles-- "Not for use in simulated combat games". I wonder what stupid accident caused THAT warning to come about? I picture her playing paintball, shooting the enemy with little vials of sulfuric acid. . .

Oh, great idiocy abounding. One kid covered his head, neack and feet with high-stick duct tape. his punishment for wasting tape was he had to rip it all off. Some yelling and a very red face.

BTW, for those of you wondering about out publicity, we have the IN-SO website, as well as a post on the SOINC.ORG website. We also have postcards we mail out. PR must work, since we have kids from 14 states, France and Korea. I also do a plug here every spring. camp sells out around the same time as Nationals.
