Event Help Organization (read for explanation, then vote)
Re: Event Help Organization (read for explanation, then vote)
if its really long i don't think any one's going to actually read it...
you could do what you do for the poll's fourm, a mod has to see the topic before its actually post it, this way new members won't be able to make 20 threads of the same thing

There should not be a main thread; questions should be addressed in separate threads or by genre or whatever naturally happens.
All of the other options are fine, but I just don't really like this one.

I like this one. It keeps everything organized. If you don't feel like reading through the whole thread, just search for what you're looking for via the search bar.trajectoryroxs wrote:There should not be a main thread; questions should be addressed in separate threads or by genre or whatever naturally happens.

Would you all think that it would be useful to have a sticky 'Read Before Posting' post in the event help forums explaining that we (for now at least) prefer One Big Thread style of arrangement, and having a hint about how to search the forums?

possibly. Just because it's there doesnt mean people will actually read it though. It doesn't hurt though, and some people will probably read it.

I think that as long as it's short and to the point, people will read it. But if it's long, nobody will read it. Take for example the Terms and Agreements that you have to agree to for most things. Does anybody ever read those? No, because it's too long.Pleiades wrote:possibly. Just because it's there doesnt mean people will actually read it though. Is it possible to show a message to new members before they can post for the first time?

Could probably do a welcome PM or something, but I doubt it would help much...

I doubt most new users would even know how to look at their PMs. (No offense to anybody, but I know that I didn't know what a PM was at firstDark Sabre wrote:Could probably do a welcome PM or something, but I doubt it would help much...
