Sorry for the delay.
You were kind of correct on its importance, but not on its location.
It is located in Alaska, and it is important because that is the go-to surging glacier glaciologists follow.

Here is another question, since no one is asking any.
What are the types of moraines and where are they located on a glacier?

lateral-along the sides of a glacier
medial-in the middle of a glacier (formed when two glaciers combine and their lateral moraines join)
end/terminal-at the terminus of the glacier
ground-located under the glacier

Great! Your turn to ask a question.

Ok here's another question.

List and describe the 3 parts of the Milankovitch theory. How long is the cycle for each part?

Obliquity: The earth wobbles on its axis. Varies on a 41,000 year cycle. Precession: The earth's orbit rotates compared to fixed stars. Varies on a 24,000-26,000 year cycle. Eccentricity: The earth orbits in an ellipse, not a circle, and is affected by gravity from other planets/stars/other large object thingies. Varies on a 100,000 year cycle.
