My highest place at States last year was a 7th, which was a pretty awful feeling :/ Ironically, the highest placing for all our new comers this year was 7th--all three newcomers got 7th as their highest place.
Wow, I remember seeing your brother at Heredity. He didn't have a partner, right? Getting an 8th in an event in which you don't have a partner is pretty amazing. I think he should be pretty proud of that, and congrats to you and your brother, Casey.

one of my friends got 7th in kth last year at nats. I cant even begin to imagine how frustrating it was to get that close to a nationals award, then not...

I've gotten a 7th place in Experimental, 8th place in Ornithology, and 9th place in Disease Detectives at Nationals, but no medal

Yes, when my road scholar partner and I were taking a road scholar test I started bleeding in the middle of it and I think that is what caused us to get fifth.
