Re: Scioly Assassination 96: Dear Diary
Since when did people argue with Assassinators over the rules that they themselves created? It is up to them to interpret the rules and play the game as they see fit. I doubt that any Assassinator wants to create a massive list of rules that cover each and every possibility, or that any player wants to read over said list.
Edit: And if you want to be technical, there isn't a rule that says players receive accusations in the first place.

Re: Scioly Assassination 96: Dear Diary
Littleboy has successfully prevented anything other than the first Diary entry from being written. Actually, that’s incorrect, but the game ends prematurely free of deaths. I wanted to post to say that I’m in and that a wrap-up post is coming. If you haven’t already, Littleboy, please PM me your pick for the next Sassy.
EDIT: Wrap-up coming.

Just play like how the sassy wants us to play. As for the chunk of text we must cipher, an A -> Z B->Y doesn't work. Any clues?
"II’D USE YES OR DEATH’S PROWS #8"

Thanks for clearing that up, thegenius
As with all games that involve dirty tactics, it's probably best to just forgive and forget. Maybe the next game will be more fun, sorry it was so short, skink.

Re: Scioly Assassination 96: Dear Diary
I wanted to start by thanking strawberrygirl for selecting me. I didn’t think I’d ever get chosen, so I was very happy, to say the least. I’m sorry you picked a failure of a killer, haha.
What Just Happened
Now, then. Let’s discuss what just happened before I tell you about the game itself. Long story short, Littleboy determined I was the Sassy. I made a few (you could say fatal) mistakes like not being a hidden user in the first place as well as posting during the timeframe when iwonder would have sent out the invitation PM. I figured posting would mask the fact that I was reading PMs, but I overlooked the fact that I was online to begin with.
What about the accusation? Well, after he told me he IDed me prematurely, he offered to sit this one out for a while. I told him he didn’t have to considering I designed the game to last a little over a week (no more than three worst case scenario) and to play anyways. I, then, essentially pronounced ‘war’ by pointing out that, since he needs an accusation in order to win even after identifying me, I had three options: 1. make the clues impossible, 2. have Skink solve every clue within minutes and hoard the accusations, or 3. arrange for someone of my choosing to win. Little did I realize he had a technicality against me.
I made a mistake copying iwonder’s rules and not adding much other than a few game-specific touches. While I firmly disagree with Littleboy’s argument for why he should be able to accuse before the game begins (I believe it was understood, especially with the newer players), he’s right. It’s not explicitly written that accusations must be earned. TheGenius brings up a good point; it’s understood the game involves them at all. Nonetheless, I’m not holding the community hostage over a silly argument over something that should be fun. Thus, Littleboy wins, and the game ends before some people even get here.
My advice for any future and new Assassinator is threefold. First, treat every game like it will be your last. Second, don’t open that invite PM too quickly (and possibly be hidden, too). Lastly and most importantly, flesh out your rules leaving nothing up to creative interpretation.
The Game Itself
Now, let’s talk the game itself. The theme was something I came up with one day that lends itself well to idiosyncratic syntax, rambling, incoherence, and numbers (related to dates and whatnot). Also, many of the changes made to iwonder’s rules made them gender neutral to try and cast suspicion onto the girls here since guys (usually) don’t keep diaries.
There was a recurring clue here. Notice that the Assassinator’s sig is a snippet from One Direction’s hit. That was going to be there the entire game as a hint. We’ll return to that. II’D USE YES OR DEATH’S PROWS #8 is an anagram evidenced by the fact it’s awkwardly in all caps and the fact that ‘I’d’ has two Is in it. That’s the tip-off. It’s an anagram for THE PASSWORD YOU DESIRE IS #8. That block of nothingness is a Vigenère cipher. I hate ciphers, but this way I can accept (you’re not sitting there guessing passwords until you have enough information). See, the password was to be determined after a while of several clues (or sooner if someone catches on). Each post was going to have a location and some number in there. Those corresponded to One Direction tour dates. You follow the arbitrary numbering scheme I have (I think I skipped the 12/03/12 one and started the next one at #1) to find that #8 is Nashville. Plug in Nashville to find the following:
Btu,hgnafiatwhddtioyoyubtuownkT'leseppoeletrhowhtaew
caaulytEitheruyowaitIninmorenissrproundsanunlsodoinoof
arehorastbeewsihtotiwth,hurrysfaknwnoyas,tathsnetcesne

duowhoatthhevkillsssisichkemetnidsrwotbaindwemsntieies
dtacl.dentaacoldcietchrctrnyobloodceTONnd'otreaaeclr"hw
The embedded message is: ‘Either wait more rounds or hurry and accuse the one who kills in cold blood’
Isn’t that pun of sorts cute? I liked it. Cold-blooded refers to endothermy, which heavily implicates Skink. Solve this clue, and you’d be left almost doubtless. Admittedly, you’d have to figure out the One Direction nonsense first.
What’s the wait more rounds part mean? Well, there was another recurring clue that I won’t share considering it wasn’t making its debut until the first clue tomorrow. It would have let you win if you were down to one accusation as a group somehow. It would have been clearer than the one above; let’s say that.
There are a few other tidbits. The Diary entries were meant to be approaching incoherence while still understandable. I mean, the Assassinator is a killer, so you wouldn’t expect a normal thought pattern, would you?
Here’s the cool one, in my opinion. Skink was late to the party tonight because he had to post 96 minutes after the Assassinator. Regardless what happened, I was going to keep the attention to numbers and detail up as long as possible. I wanted to see who would notice, if anyone, and use the Skink account for dropping other hints as opposed to the Assassinator one. It’s a failed experiment (since it never happened), but the thought counts for something, right?
That’s all she wrote. Once again, thanks strawberrygirl for the opportunity, and congratulations Littleboy. I’m bitter about it, admittedly, but you won fair and square. All that’s left is…death, I suppose. And, with that, Skink takes his leave from the Assassinator games. It was fun, guys, but I’m done.

Skink, all I have to say is that even though this game was short, it was obviously well thought out. I'm sure that you'll have another opportunity to be the sassy, again.
Everyone's first game isn't going to be that great. I mean, look at mine. I only had 6 pages of gameplay. ...And Koko's first game, haha.
Still, even though this was extremely short, you did wonderful. I hope you have another chance to be sassy.
Also, good luck to the next sassy. It'll be interesting to see who Littleboy chooses.
