For anything Science Olympiad-related that might not fall under a specific event or competition.

We are somewhat recognized by other people in my school and by all the science teachers, but we don't get any recognition as for announcements go. This year, we beat one of the dominating schools ("dominate" is a gross understatement) and no one outside of the science department said a word. It was very frustrating. :|

Actually, some of our science teachers don't even know about it...
Btw, 1/8 of my "school" would be over 775 kids :P

Actually, it's three high schools on one campus. SO there's a total of 6000 kids, and you have classes in all three high schools and stuff. It's pretty cool!
But yeah, academic things don't get a lot of recognition.

I kinda wish I went to that type of school.

That's sad, how long has your school have a SciOly team then?

i bet schools like Solon and Troy and Centerville get tons of recognition and publicity, i mean, they are the powerhouses that win nationals every year. unless states like california are used to winning every competition there is

Actually, I think Troy is a school that's devoted solely to math and science and stuff like that (plus, I think it's a private school that you have to apply and take a test to get into), so it's really no wonder that Troy gets so much publicity. And California doesn't win every single competition..... >.< (Although I hate how there's a lot of competition to get into university over here.....)

But when you look at the competition for SO here, it's not as bad as in New York, where there are so many good schools crammed into one state (or that's what it looks like from over in the West). Over in SoCal, Troy wins every year, so there isn't that much competition over in Div. C. As for Div. B, schools have short reigns, so there's more competition than in Div. C.

at our school, our science teachers do everything they can to show who is in scioly. the day before a competition, they tape things to our lockers telling us not to panic!
we have the answer to life, the universe, and everything
