yeah B division has more grade levels to work with, from 5th to 9th grade, C division only has 9-12, and some campuses only have 10-12, because they start with a 9th grade campus

Actually B division officialy can use only grades 6-9 (only 5 9th graders) and Div C can use 9-12 (only seven seiniors). So that's four grades each. This however varies with the school. For example our Middle School only has 7th and 8th graders (but could take 9th graders if they didin't wan't to go the HS team.)

Edit: and I just found out that there are 3 elemtary school divisions (A1,A2,A3) instead of the two that are on wikipedia.

Hmmm...never realized that B allowed 9th graders? Why? Aren't they already in a different school?

In my district, B division would be only 7/8. Our schools go K,1,2,3 - 4,5,6 - 7,8 -9,10,11,12.

Not always. My district is 7-9, so they kinda have to let 9th graders do division B. Wouldnt be fair to make us go to the high school. Theres a limit to 5 9th graders per team though, to insure that the entire team is not made of older kids.
2009 events:
Fossils: 1st @ reg. 3rd @ states (stupid dinosaurs...) 5th @ nats.
Dynamic: 1st @ reg. 19thish @ states, 18th @ nats
Herpetology (NOT the study of herpes): NA
Enviro Chem: 39th @ states =(
Cell Bio: 9th @ reg. 18th @ nats
Remote: 6th @ states 3rd @ Nats
Ecology: 5th @ Nats

Yes. in my case they are already in a different school, but our Div B coach asked them to stay on the team even though they would be in 9th grade and in a differnt school. They experience would make up for missing the afterschool practice and they would still come to the Saturday ones. The students denied the offer cause they wanted to be with the "big boys".

Our school distict is k-5, 6-8, 9-12.

they're in a different school in my district, but being on B gives the ninth graders a chance to be team leaders before moving up to high school

my district is:
K-5, 6-8, 9-12

it had a ninth grade campus for a while but that changed last year

I'd probably do the events I competed in last year which is:
001. write it do it [its FUN]
002. ecology [one of my favorites]
but since mystery architecture isn't back...... > w >
oh well.
so, those two are probably my top priority, although I may consider competing for disease detectives >D

my state schedule just got posted on my state's website including what teams are what numbers. unfortunately my team isnt listed!!! :o I think my coach forgot to register us and the registration deadline has already passed! If my state director does let us make a late registration then there is a 50% chance will have MAJOR conflicts and there is a 50% chance i will have NO conflicts.

OMG that's terrible. I think dude needs to give u a hug. Wow if that's what happend then ure coach doesn't know what s/he's doing. Get a better coach lol. That really sucks for you.
Just one thing, does that mean that if u had registered on time you would have no conflicts?

yeah, it is terrible. i just emailed my coach about it. it's not that he's a bad coach, he's good. a month ago i was talking to my other coach and i asked her if we got our rulebooks yet and she said no because we havent registered yet because we were waiting to see if the school would help pay for the registration fee. anyway, i'm hoping that we really did register and theres an updated version of the schedule that hasnt been posted yet. i'm not sure that my coach knew that there was a deadline or that it was this early. even if we had registered there still would have been a 50/50 chance. if my team is numbers 1-12 then i have no conflicts but if we are numbers 13-24 then i have MAJOR conflicts.
