Re: Riddles
Here's another:
A man walks into a hardware store and asks the salesman for the price of a product. The salesman tells him that it costs $2 to buy one, $4 to buy ten, and $6 to buy one hundred. What product did the man want to buy?

Re: Riddles
What's unusual about the following paragraph?
"Gatsby was walking back from a visit down in Branton Hill's manufacturing district on a Saturday night. A busy day's traffic had had its noisy run; and with not many folks in sight, His Honor got along without having to stop to grasp a hand, or talk; for a mayor out of City Hall is a shining mark for any politician. And so, coming to Broadway, a booming bass drum and sounds of singing, told of a small Salvation Army unit carrying on amidst Broadway's night shopping crowds. Gatsby, walking towards that group, saw a young girl, back toward him, just finishing a long, soulful oration ... "

Re: Riddles
There's no "E", the most common letter in the alphabet...
Here's one:
At one time, the Canadian and US dollars were discounted by 10 cents on each side of the border (i.e., a Canadian dollar was worth 90 US cents in the US, and a US dollar was worth 90 Canadian cents in Canada). A man walks into a bar on the US side of the border, orders 10 US cents worth of beer, pays with a US dollar and receives a Canadian dollar in change. He then walks across the border to Canada, orders 10 Canadian cents worth of beer, pays with a Canadian dollar and receives a US dollar in change. He continues this throughout the day, and ends up drunk with the original dollar in his pocket.
Who pays for the drinks?

Startling is one...zyzzyva98 wrote:I've got one: Name a nine letter word that remains a word after you take out one letter at a time, right down to one letter? (example: straps - traps - taps) List all nine forms of the word.
Startling
Starting
Staring

Sting
Sing
Sin
In
I
I can't help but think American is one...though not 9 letters...and it probably isnt...
