As of now, our team has been cut to 20 members instead of 23. By next week, it will be 17 members. 15 regulars, 2 alternates.

I've seen a team with three people

Hopefully they'll get a few more for next year.

I go to a large JH school (about 1000 kids), and our SciO team reflects that. We have, by the regional tournament, about 56 members on 4 to 5 teams, one being the A team.

We had 2 teams this year, as a rookie year O.o. Mostly because we had a team down at the middle school. 30-ish people initially joined, but 10 of them quit or couldn't come for various reasons, so team A had 8 people, and team B had 10 or so.

Hopefully, next year, we'll be more organized :\

Well our team started off at a decent size of 32 but over the year we lost a few and had about 28 or so by the end, we always had a full roster for our "A" team (15 people) and then the rest were on "B" team, everyone got to compete, and getting on A was very competitive. I like the way our school does it, though I guess it can be frustrating when someone who is clearly the best at their event is on "B" team because they don't do more than that event or the other event they study has an upper classman who is better than them in it.

I go to a pretty big school (4000) so we have 3 teams of 15. Our Varsity team has the best people on it. However, I have a problem with some of the remaining 30 people. I'm okay with one JV team but we have 2; JVA and JVB. I don't even know the names of half the kids on JVB and most of them come to the meetings, eat, play Nintendo DS, and leave. They don't work on any events or take tests and they don't talk even talk to the coaches.
This has frustrated me for a couple of months now and now it's really starting to affect our budget. We're having to pay more for the hotel rooms, more food, and more t-shirts. I'm mad that I'm going to appear in the same yearbook picture with those idiots.

My SO team is like 30-35 ppl. But only 15 compete with 2 registered alternates, the other ppls are for moral support!
Our school only has about 850 kids.

Ok wait wat...you pay for hotel rooms...for wat? They dont go to state, they're JV...and invitationals? I think not....Illinois es not that grande.

Food? We dont get food at our scioly meetings...Im sad now :(

Shirts? You give free shirts? Wat the pigeon? We have to pay. God i hate my life....can't wait till i become a doctor so at least i can be happy that my kids can go to a good school and actually have a chance at going to nationals because of my 250k Anesthesiology paycheck....naw im just kidding, i would never go into a job for the money. Id more than happily settle for a 150k Pediatric Surgeon position.

And this is freakin New Trier. Dam it, if i were rich enough, no scratch that, if my parents were rich enough, i could live in that over taxed neighberhood and go to that school, and be on ur team. I am not lazy, and i work my ass of for events i like, cause i like my bling at state.

So ya...surprises me that New Trier of all schools, even a JV team, has kids who are lazy....

But dude....our VARSITY team, which im on and am one of the 7 or so productive members, is so lazy, they leave their sci oly stuff till the week before state.

Btw: No offense to you, ya seem like a nice guy...im just frustrated sometimes because i feel like if i were on a team that didn't procrastinate so much and actually had a budget (wanna know our team budget? Like 500 dollars for regionals, including the registration fee for regionals. How ghetto is that?)
so that MAYBE we could have a chance of going to Nats....

Ok /rant.

14 members with 4 alternats that are fighting for the final spot on the state team. For regionals we had a team of 11, varsity, and a teem of 13, Junior Varsity.
