Both years seem to indicate we can take 3 pages, but it wasn't allowed last year anywhere I went. With the same wording imo, I would say 1 page.

It's interesting that Soinc bolded the word participant in this year's rules, I feel like that means they want to emphasize to people that it is 1 page for each person --> 3 pages per full team. It's definitely safer to bring just 1 piece of paper though...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't bold in the rules indicate a change, rather than an emphasis?

There was a change in the manual of the jmol file we have to use (the manual says 5td5.pdb, but the actual cbm jmol environment shows the new one, 5keg.pdb). However, the place where we order the mini-toober kit hasn't updated yet and still displays 5td5. Can we still order it now and expect to receive the right size of toober? Because 5td5 would be around 194cm, which is a lot less than the length the new file needs.

Also, I was thinking about buying toober-like material from somewhere else. Does anyone know of good toober material?

The 2019-20 Pre-Build Model should represent amino acids 31 - 145 of chain A of the cytidine deaminase protein based on the PDB file 5keg.pdb. This section will require a toober that is 228cm long at the scale of 1 amino acid = 2cm.

NOTE: This is a different structure/sequence than originally stated in the
Science Olympiad rules. An official rule change has been submitted.

Not sure why this keeps happening, seems like soinc and cbm are uncoordinated. I hope people who already ordered their pre-build models receive the correct one.

If you look closely at the picture on the 3d modeling site, it shows a 228cm long toober, so it should be fine.

228cm converts to 7.48031 feet, I think you accidently calculated inches instead of cm. Just don't want you to think the model is 19 feet long, that would be a lot.

I got a confirmation back from the soinc people and they did clarify, one paper per person on the team

Each participant/person may bring one paper. With a team of 3 participants
that would be 3 sheets of paper.
