Ouch!!!
Science Olympiad is a tribute to Murphey's Law. This has been proven experimentally.
And no, I'm not a guy...even though my sig says will robsinson. It's a reference to Lost in Space, an ancient sci fi TV show. And the robot is the character who always says the line.

You know you've lived in PA too long when "reading" is the name of a town, not what you do with a book.
- when you expect school to be canceled after 1-2 in of snow
- when you don't believe the weather forecast when it predicts snow
- when you pronounce "Philadelphia" "Philly"
- when you what "Punxsatawney Phil"is, and what it means if he sees his shadow
- when at least 5 people on your block have electric "candles" in all or most of their windows all year long
- when a traffic jam is ten cars waiting to pass a horse-drawn carriage on the highway in Lancaster County
- when you've come to expect bad roads
- when you can pronounce Wilkes-Barre, Schuylkill, Bala Cynwyd, Conshohocken, and Monongahela correctly
- when you realize that you can't get alchoholic beverages from a regular supermarket

You know you've been in the city (I'm a long islander) to long when you know what subways to take to get to where you want without taking a map.

Doesn't everyone? Philly is pretty commonly used (maybe because of the cheesesteak?) and everyone's seen Groundhog day.

Ugh yes, I hate hearing people say Wilkes-Bar. I was born in Wilkes-Barre. I can say Monongahela, but probably can't spell it. Not sure about the other ones though.
