Here's the answer, based on my prior experience:
You will be quizzed on terms, and there is always at least one scenario given to you (usually more). There are then questions that must be answered based on the scenario. This all on paper.

GSimmons12345-this is an extremely competitive event, especially at states and nationals. It takes both logic and a ridiculously large capacity for memorization (and a good partnerd)

Questions like "what do I study for this event" or "what should I do for this event" aren't going to get you any helpful responses. You need to start by reading the rules. Read them until you understand them. Then try looking for resources - there are many easy places to find information. Soinc.org usually has links to helpful pages, the wiki here is a good starting point, and maybe the simplest of all, internet searching.

When you have specific questions to ask about the event, that's when it's a good idea to ask them here. Then you can get actual feedback from other people.

You can't exactly ask if an event is difficult or not either, as that's very subjective. And the way SO works, it's a competition, so it doesn't really matter. It could be the easiest or the hardest event in the world, but what matters is that you are more prepared than the other competitors. Plus, tests range quite a bit in difficulty based on tournament - but the underlying principle is still the same, it's you against everyone else, you need to do the absolute best you can.

Pretty much memorize as much epidemiology vocab. as possible and (as someone else mentioned) the soinc.org packet. Actually, you should also know a little bit about famous epidemiologists and such. Oh, and take as many practice tests as you can. If you do that, you'll be fine. :) It's not actually as hard as people make it sound. ;)

Yeah, those famous epidemiologists are almost always the tiebreaker. Good math skills are also needed for the various epidemiology equations.

u are given at least one scenario about some outbreak and u have to figure out the sorucc, how its spread etc according to the incubation rate like u find the incubation rate and on a table u math the number and that wud be the disease etc.
be prepared that u have only 50 minutes and u have at least 1 scenario that u need to use the 10 steps plus other parts of the test so time managment is needed
if there is 2 scenarios split it up so u have time to do others
