Do you guys have any idea as to what specific geohazards we should have in our binders?

I'd get the obvious ones, general info about earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, and tsunamis.

Earthquakes, volcanoes, slumps, rockfalls, and rockslides are the ones that immediately come to mind for me. Anything that applied to Dynamic Planet's previous topic would probably fit well.

What do we need to know about geologic maps?

How to read them I guess. The rules give the example task of using geologic maps to help assess geohazard risks, construct a cross-section of sub-surface structures, and reconstructing the evolution of a given plate boundary.

The rule says tracing paper and pin. What kind of pin?

The ideal pin would of the capped type sometimes used with nametags. Any type of pin with a flat head should work, provided you can avoid being poked by the tip pointing upwards.
