At my school, science olympiad gets a lot of attention. There are so many teachers involved, it's not funny. Almost all of the science teachers are coaches, and even a librarian is the health science coach. We can't compete with the schools from some of the big cities, but we have a nice team going to be living in such a small town. I don't really know what other people think about it though, because I only hang out with nerds anyway. Well, mostly nerds. And while there are people on the team who would definitely not be considered nerds, they aren't too serious about it. It's the nerds who win events.

I guess if we had coaches for all the events we would have more influence in the school. But we don't.

my school thinks of us as pretty cool! some people do think we are kinda nerdyish, but we say yeah but were cool nerds. But then people wish they were on the team, when we go to state(we go EVERY year) we have a really big send off

neh, our school doesn't care. the team is entirely all AP kids who are generally friends just with each other. the school puts way more effort into sports.

ya. its pretty funny, cuz my school is supposed 2 be really into academics but they care about the sports teams more than us. plus, a girl at school said that "ms scioly is nothing, its just an easier version of hs scioly.
" well, at least we know what other ppl think of us!!!

all the teachers think wer amazing but the kids are just like whatever nd think wer a bunch of nerds

wow... we're made fun of sooo much at my school.. not directly, but i always overhear things.....
teachers congratulate us.. but i seriously doubt that they even know how the thing is run. i really think that most students and teachers just think that SO is just some science fair type of thing

People at my school seem to like the less intellectual and incredibly less challenging TSA more than SO.
