Ohio states are a week away, and it looks like the most competitive teams there are Solon, Mason, Centerville, and Mentor. Who do you think is moving on?
Solon is, without a doubt in my opinion. Centerville has not looked strong at invites: even taking their best scores from each event at West liberty, the last invite, isn't very impressive. This leaves Mentor and Mason, and of the two I would predict Mason moving on. They haven't stopped improving over the course of the season and I think they will show up at states.EleGiggle wrote:Ohio states are a week away, and it looks like the most competitive teams there are Solon, Mason, Centerville, and Mentor. I think Centerville is very likely to place ahead of Mentor; I'd say second place is the contested spot (between Centerville and Mason), with 1st and 4th pretty likely to be Solon and Mentor respectively.4Head wrote:Solon is, without a doubt in my opinion. Actually you know what, I'll take my chances on the longshot here:Unome wrote:Might as well start this up again:
1. Troy
2. Solon
3. Seven Lakes
4. Harriton
5. LASA
6. Mira Loma
7. Mason/Centerville
8. Northville
9. Munster
10. Fayetteville-Manlius
11. Mounds View
12. Stevenson
13. New Trier
14. Acton-Boxborough
15. Chattahoochee
16. 'Iolani
17. Columbia
18. Conestoga/Rustin/etc.
19. WW-P South
20. Boca Raton
That top 14 is quite a wall; I'd be surprised to see any of the teams below them break in.
Why is WWP so low? Did they lose a lot of people or somethingUnome wrote:Might as well start this up again:

South hasn't qualified for Nationals in two years. Maybe they'll do better, but I wouldn't expect anything higher than 15th. I probably could have placed F-M a few spots lower but their score at state is comparable to previous scores by NY teams finishing in the top ten.kenniky wrote:Why is WWP so low? Also F-M seems a bit high
Looks to me like Solon just had a bad day. Likely that they messed up the laser shoot in Optics and anything can happen with Widi. Id still say they are stronger than Mentor.jakool6 wrote:Mentor KILLED it at states, I may see them taking 1st at nats.
Solon definitely had a bad day. If they had performed in those events as they normally do, they could have had a score nearing 50 points! In that regard, they'll definitely do a lot better at nationals this year. I think Mentor will likely end up somewhere around 10th, maybe a little lower on a good day. Troy/Mira Loma/Harriton/LASA/Solon and maybe Northville are definitely going to eat up the top few spots.windu34 wrote:Looks to me like Solon just had a bad day.
