our two state trial events were: Rock My World, and Forestry Quest.
Rock my world: I didn't get into the details of this event, but I did read over the rules, an event about deep-coastal ocean oil drilling.
Forestry Quest: parts of different trees were given, or pics, and were asked questions/to ID.
what are some of the other trial events events that you had??
i think that for some states, trials count cuz if they dont, the alternates will feel really left out or unimportant...i dont get why in some states trials dont count...
yeh unfortuntely im on of the alternates!! bcz of the 5 freshman rules. im glad that they give us something to do but thew ones for pa sounds alot harder then "pantatholon"

Re: Trial Events
I think that it's either the plane that flies the longest or flies the furthest.

Re: Trial Events
I think don't think alternates can compete in trial events if they count. I think trial events not counting is the more logical thing to do. It gives the alternates something to do instead of waiting around all day. Anyway, why would you want the trial events to help determine who goes up to the next level? Most regions and states probably want to send a team to Nationals that can do the best at Nationals and represent their state. If trial events are factored in, the best possible National team might not make it.soobsession wrote:tomixoxtina wrote:sewforlife wrote:i think that for some states, trials count cuz if they dont, the alternates will feel really left out or unimportant...i dont get why in some states trials dont count...
Trial events are great for extra competition and testing possible events, but aren't the best determining factor of the top placing teams.

Wow, that's cool. I can't actually see it become a full event, but that definitely sounds like a fun trial.

Re: Trial Events
That would be great for me, I love making paper airplanes!! It would be the only building event I ever did.

Re: Trial Events
Yeah, who doesn't like Paper Airplanes? I used to have a box full of them, and later I got a book about making the best. The book rated planes on flying time, tricks, distance, and accuracy. It also told you how to throw, like hard or soft.
