Invasive Species B/C

So, this might be a dumb question, but how much harder is Invasive Species in Div C than in Div B? This year I was the State Champion for Invasive Species (Div B), but next year I'll be going on to Div C, and hopefully doing Invasive Species again. At my regionals, the B/C tests were the same for Invasive, but usually at Invitationals they were different tests. Anyways, is Invasive Species really hard in Div C vs B or not really? Thanks.

From my experience in Fossils, B and C were basically identical; any good test is generally applicable for either division, and I was able to translate success in the event from B to C easily. I'm not sure whether this is different for Invasives.

Honestly I would doubt that you will see a large content change. The only thing is that division C might be more competitive in your state meaning you would need to do better to win 1st in division C than 1st in division B. The only content difference I can think of is if an ES for B avoids certain questions that they think might be too much for middle school level, but none of the info in fossils or invasive is that complicated to grasp.

Hi Taliazee! I was third in Division C for Invasive OH. Solon and Mentor invites were a lot harder, and I know the Akron Regional test was same for both. I thought the C State test was really practical, just a lot of questions in a short amount of time. I look forward to competing against you next year .

So Johnsongrass is resistant to glyphosate right? Why? Does it have something to do with auxin mimics? I'm pretty sure that's the case with Cogongrass. Thank you!

So for GWS there's this bacteria that it vectors. Xylella fastidiosa. "X. fastidiosa is responsible for many economically important diseases including phony peach disease, numerous leaf scold and scorch diseases, variegated citrus chlorosis and Pierce’s disease of grape". SO how does one bacterium cause more than one disease? Not sorry for the double-post.

I'm not exactly sure, but it might the bacterium might "react differently with each type of fruit.

Jaol, if you allow a salmon to migrate to the headwaters of a stream, it will grow and develop differently than the salmon blocked by a dam. This is a concept of biology known as "multiple life history". Perhaps this could lead you on your investigation of this bacterium?
