They rotate every two years now, but I don't think it has always been so regular. Two years of birds should be coming up, then two years of trees, then bugs, then herps again, and back to birds. It's an eight year cycle.

It's definitely going to be birds next year. Our team has a really good story about wood ducks...

Is anyone else planning on sending out practice tests? I would like us to actually have an exchange going, but I'm not going to do anything more on this until some other people send things out.

it's been a busy week for me. I'll definitely make one during February vacation [which is next week]

Just sent out a test. I'm also making my own large-ish test for my the others in this event that can probably be sent out sometime next week.

History says birds, but I wouldn't be completely amazed if they put an ichthyology event into the loop (they probably would've had it as a trial first, though). I'll be on the other side of SO anyways.

Did you not get my pm some time ago? I will exchange with you, if you want.

Edit: DOH! I just saw your email of Feb. 4. Sorry, my inbox was full and I didn't notice it. I have sent my test now.

In your test, flavorflav, it said that the diagnostic characteristic for crocodiles is their ankle structure. How does that work? My answer was jaw structure, because of how crocodiles' snouts are V-shaped and alligators' snouts are U-shaped. I've never read anything about their ankles.
