well the admittance to state is based on percentages actually. it's just that the first two places are GUARANTEED state. we might end up going but we'll have to wait and see. ;)

By the way: TAMUG Division C

Katy HS (A)
Foster HS
Seven Lakes HS
Cypress Ridge HS
Second Baptist
Concordia Academy
Crosby HS
Katy HS (B)
George Bush HS
Um, not to ruin your spirits or anything, but i believe that they only take the top two teams to state... But i'm pretty sure you guys are going next year! (i know people there, and people going there :D )
Division C doesn't have too many teams in Texas. In one region they've taken 5 teams last year for C. They took 5 teams from Lone Star (back when it wasn't called that) in my first year in B. We actually have a VERY good chance and I'm sure we'll actually study ahead of time if we make it to state. I think people will start taking the team more seriously once they figure out that even one night of cramming can get us somewhere. (Although that's a REALLY bad habit at 7L)

From what I've heard from y'all though is that you guys are pretty good at cramming the night before but still doing awesome at your competitions!!

This year's state will probably be the most exciting one yet considering the number of really good teams all rooting for those top 2 spots. We'll just have to wait and see........
8th at Nationals......In our 1st year.........finally, our chance to shine

Although I don't know how many of Beckendorff kids are going to do Seven Lakes scioly next year. We're going to be losing a lot of people to Band and a lot of them think it's going to be too much to handle on top of high school stuff. Personally, it would be great if we could get most of our kids from this year to come back to Seven Lakes since 75% of our two teams are 8 and 9 graders. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens and since scioly may not happen next year, we're going all out this year :D

hey its alright, we all understand. it is somewhat more difficult to balance olympiad with coursework, electives, and college prep in high school, especially at Seven Lakes, so don't be surprised if people quit. but there are many great people on the seven lakes team as well and i'm sure everyone will get along pretty nicely :)

but go for the gold while you guys still can! the team back at beckendorff has the most resources its ever had. make some good use of it you guys ;)

big D wrote:good show LASA good show. However, it would be nice to see some other team win every once in a while. I mean it must get a little tiring always winning. you have to lug around those heavy trophies around and deal with those cursedly heavy medals dangling from your neck. Really, some other team in Texas needs to put its game face on and step up to LASA. Although, at this point, I would be willing to settle for a single team that just held its own. A team that made LASA sweat a little bit. A team that would make them question whether or not they will win a given competition. That is the team i am looking for. This post is my plea. please! oh please! other teams from the great state of Texas step your game up and give LASA something to worry about.

That is all and i thank you for your time
Sincerely,
A man with too much free time and a love of competition

Next year, everyone from Beckendorff A is moving up to C. The only problem is, at our high school (Seven Lakes) we don't have as good a coach as we do now so everything we do will be all on our own with parent support.

Division B Results:

1. Beckendorff Junior High A
2. Beckendorff Junior High B
3. St. John Berchmans Catholic A
4. Riverwood Middle School A
5. St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School
6. Kealing Middle School A
7. Kelly Lane Middle School A
8. Hutto Middle School B
9. Kelly Lane Middle School B
10. All Saints Catholic School A
Yeah, we're pretty much student led...we have officers and stuff but most of the work is don independently. High sschool is a lot of work! But we're doing really good considering no one really studies except at our cram sessions. But we have team practices every friday, so yeah...but we have SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!! its pretty crazy...
Welcome to Sparta.
'nuff said.
