Melkor6000,
If you have a good blade design it should out perform a two bladed turbine. Just be sure to take
a conventional (2 bladed) turbine to your competition, in case they rule against you. They can consider your design to "not comply with the intent of the rules". Another way that they might disqualify you is if your straw is much shorter than your single blade, they might not consider that
your turbine meets the diameter rule. If you don't mind, report back to us if you succeded in improving your out put. Good luck.

We've been getting about 690 low and 820 high so far, It's kinda bad, but I think it's ok for Division B? Do you guys agree?

Division B speeds should be higher because you are allowed a smaller radius.

The crucial ratio of the blades is the tip speed ratio: (the ratio of the speed of the tips of your blades to the wind speed).
If the tip speed is v, then the angular speed is v/r. Bigger angular speed=bigger voltage so you want to minimize the radius of your design.

In a one-bladed wind turbine, would they measure the diameter from the center of the cd (the hole) or would they go from the middle of the entire turbine?

Unless it has been in the last couple of days, that has not been answered. We asked for a clarification in Junkyard three weeks or more ago and have never heard back. The form itself is not the easiest to work with.

That's the big mystery. I just submitted a rule clarification to the National Site. You should submit one to your state.

How would you balance a three bladed design? How would you know when it's balanced?

A three blades design should be perfectly balanced on its own, as long as you make it symmetrical...
