Huh...well its under the reptiles section on the fossils list and so i thought it was cold-blooded...maybe some dispute but ill just assume it is.

Dimetrodon is a synapsid, precursor to mammals...

My fossil partner wrote a page on the Three Classes of Fish for the binder, under threat of losing the event (he only likes it because I do all the work and he wins medals). I told him there were four classes of fish. Regionals is Saturday. I am dead.

As long as you've been doing the work, have some confidence. I've been doing this independently, too, until very recently. Also, I've got states on Saturday

Hmm, i realize that now that u say it...thanks for mentioning that...it says on the list that it was a mammal-like reptile...interesting.

Wow! That seems early! Ours isn't until April. Good luck! Especially with a partner who hopefully knows some stuff!

Lmao...very few people are interested in fossils cause it looks like such a boring event at first...and also some people are just lazy...

My partner did NOTHING, and we (or should i say i...) still got 1st. So dont worry, working independently isnt too bad until states and especially nationals...

I hate people who just do events but dont study for them, hoping to win medals...

Yeah. There was a typo and we weren't awarded our medal at the last invite, so they were mailed to us. My coach is thinking about withholding the medal from my partner because she knew I did all the work. I really do get tired of having events with people who don't study, don't work, and expect to breeze through. Fossils is an amazingly interesting event. Another thing that bugs me is the people who don't do any studying or anything, guess, win medals by luck, and take them away from people that actually do work. I sense a flaw in the system.

this bugs me a lot to but even worse is when 6 of my 15 team member are this exactly, one in particular who just wants state metal without putting anytime into the events. He thinks mainly that because we have received one the last 4 years together that we will automatically get one or then this get my coach and me mad because I have to end up doing everything. This teammate is has been caught playing his 360 instead of going to practice, that was really bad for him my coach ended up messaging him while he was playing. But luckily my partner for Fossils is working as hard as I am preparing which is good, I know how you feel being stuck with everything, its hard but you will be rewarded somehow for your hard work.

Has anyone been stopped from removing pages of your binder during the test? I have removed pages in the past just so when I had time at the end I can fill in missed answers at the end of the test.

It does say in the rules that everything in the binder must be hole-punched and put into the rings.

And a question for the dino experts: How do you tell a Coelophysis, Deinonuchus, and a Velociraptor apart? They all look the same to me, unless I'm missing something.
