I think part of it is also that hosting a Discord server is easier, but it really makes finding information more difficult. It used to be that you could just search up a question and find a simple answer but now 9 times out of 10 you have to join a Discord server or do something else that requires an account in order to access. It's pretty inconvenient.

I'm sort of glad now for the many (somewhere around 5) times I was about to create a discord account and didn't for higher level distraction (namely things like chess). Distractions are a hierarchy nowadays and we need to make sure the rulers are well-deserved. And I think scioly is a good thing to get distracted on, whether it helps you legitimately study for a science competition or not. (it does, but it also gets me distracted frequently. I think it's a good balance.)
Never said it wasn't a good thing to be distracted on, or that being on here implied that you had a high attention span. The Discord moves much faster than the forums, though, and changes topics quickly. I'm guessing people enjoy that more than waiting for posts on a forum that stays on-topic more often. In Discord there's usually a good 3+ conversations going on at the same time and a billion channels that you have instant access to. You don't have to go through the trouble of sending forums messages, either.

Forum message sending isn't any trouble. you just type them in and hit "submit"

It's not as fast as Discord, though. Replies are slower and the interface is also somewhat clunkier than Discord.
I think you're missing the point here.

I'm not missing the important point, I'm missing the random argument points. Even if I don't have strong arguments, the forums are just better for some reason.

You would be surprised. So many people tell me they don't know how to use the forums even though it's not really any different from using Discord. To you and me it might be intuitive, but to someone else it might be intimidating and unapproachable.
though that doesn't mean I necessarily understand it.

I don't think so; you're focusing on the details instead of the point i'm trying to support with them. They're not random arguments, because I've included thoese details for a reason.. I'm not saying you don't have strong arguments, either.

You're right, I'm trying to say other arguments to get to the same conclusion that the forums need more activity. And since I don't have much experience on discord I can't speak much for that.

Love the first three notes. Feels like it's headed toward resolution but the third note just doesn't feel done. What's your favorite sonata?
