Uh. I just kept my binder with the national list and a section for the GA invasives. There were no Georgia species or any national list invasives. It was very smoothly run and it all worked out nicely in the end anyways.ellesbelles wrote:For people in states with their own state list, what are you guys doing about the species on the Nat list but not on the state list? I'm from Georgia and there's a large number of species I wouldn't think to study, but I'm afraid it might be on the test at State in case the ES was either not aware or reusing a different test?

Re: Invasive Species B/C
For people who are doing Invasive Species at the Pennsylvania State Tournament, it says on the list under aquatic species: Snakehead (all species). Does this mean I have to know about each and every species of snakehead, or just be able to identify the main genus and know the rest of the general properties of Snakehead? What have you guys done about this? Right now, I only have notes on Northern Snakehead.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I'm division C and my SO coach who has connections with the Emory guy says that she thinks they might reuse an invasive species test or something. What do you mean by "There were no Georgia species or any national list invasive?"Jaol wrote:Uh. I just kept my binder with the national list and a section for the GA invasives. Re: Invasive Species B/C
The test did not contain any Georgia specific species and also the testmaker did not absent-mindedly ask a question about an invasive not on he list.

Re: Invasive Species B/C
Yep, this was confusing for me as well. I may be wrong, but I believe the only species of Snakehead found in PA was the Northern Snakehead in two ponds around Philadelphia. I'm mostly including information about the Northern Snakehead, with general information about the other species just in case. I would be surprised if this didn't cover it.schist99centz wrote:For people who are doing Invasive Species at the Pennsylvania State Tournament, it says on the list under aquatic species: Snakehead (all species). Re: Invasive Species B/C
The website they copy and pasted from to make the list(that's why it says all species) links to northern snakehead when you click on it, so I would assume that's the only one we need to know.havenguy wrote:Yep, this was confusing for me as well. Re: Invasive Species B/C
So, this might be a dumb question, but how much harder is Invasive Species in Div C than in Div B? This year I was the State Champion for Invasive Species (Div B), but next year I'll be going on to Div C, and hopefully doing Invasive Species again. At my regionals, the B/C tests were the same for Invasive, but usually at Invitationals they were different tests. Anyways, is Invasive Species really hard in Div C vs B or not really? Thanks.

Re: Invasive Species B/C
There should be a reasonable jump in difficulty/competitiveness, but as long as you continue your efforts, I'm sure you will do well. Div C tests should be more in depth and specific than Div Btaliazee wrote:So, this might be a dumb question, but how much harder is Invasive Species in Div C than in Div B? Re: Invasive Species B/C
From my experience in Fossils, B and C were basically identical; any good test is generally applicable for either division, and I was able to translate success in the event from B to C easily. I'm not sure whether this is different for Invasives.taliazee wrote:So, this might be a dumb question, but how much harder is Invasive Species in Div C than in Div B?
