Yeah, they shouldn't ask that because it is impossible to figure out without the speed

its not like they can make us interpret the speed or something so yea

Thank you...I had a question like that on my regionals test, and I was like, "how do I do that, I have no idea". I actually know nothing about Snell's Law, so I will look that up right now. Thank you for that.

would the refractive indexes of various materials be helpful, we have a table full of those. Also, is there any good way of finding the epicentral distance of an earthquake? we currently use the Richter graph (below)

Yes, the refractive indices are very helpful (though i question the relevence of haveing VODKA on our sheet). For earthquakes, we use a earthquake time travel graph. I couldn't find a way to post it here so i'll give you a URL

there's also a formula i used to have on my sheet but that's with my partner for now, something about multiplying the time between the p wave and s wave by 7 and then dividing by something... cant remember
we must have found the same tables of refractive indexes because we have very odd similar things included

oh... well for that graph you just find the time difference between the p and s wave arrivals and find that point on the table and it tells you how far away it is. And yeah with the refractive indices our sheet also has whiskey and beer

we have almost unlimited binder space so i didnt feel like deleting it

Lol. Our binder is rly small, but my partner knows the stuff pretty well (better than me). btw what state are you in?
