No matter what the experiment's result, there will always be someone eager to:(a) misinterpret it(b) fake it, or (c) believe it supports his own pet theory.

i soo wish we could make it to nationals but we do so good at regionals we get put with the rich schools from chicago that have a coach from every event, so, unless we get a miracle, zilch on the whole nationals thing. but we'll still have fun anyway.

How many teams from each state can go to nationals? If it varies, how many teams from Ohio can go?

One or two. Ohio normally sends two.

From what I know, in Div. C, Ohio, Michigan, New York, Illinois, Missouri, Pennsylvania, California (North and South) consistently have 2 teams to nationals. And often times Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, Indiana, Kansas, North Dakota will have two teams.

There are generally sixty teams to nationals, and there are a few states that don't have SO yet.

They assign a second slot to States in order of the number of teams registered in that state, until they run out of slots. The state totals can be found here: https://soinc.org/sites/default/files/u ... hipMap.pdf, but that's B and C teams together. The tournament slots are awarded just for registrations on that level, from what I understand.

ETA: from that map, it seems that West Virginia is the only state without SciO, although Vermont has only one team. I wonder, does that team automatically go through to nationals? That would seem a little unfair - they should make them compete in a neighboring state until they hit some minimum.

State in three days.

I guess that's when the big question will be answered...
