exactly! My friend who wants to be a doctor (no offense to speech&debate people) was like "scioly looks fun but like too much work... I'll just do s&d." =_=
And I try telling her about how awesome scioly is everyday, and she never understands. Sigh.
I still want to throw my medals at her.

Great minds think alike. I just think that people judge SciOly too quickly as the nerd competition, when in reality you have people goofing off at practices, writing forums like 101 ways to get kicked out of a competition, etc. I almost wanted to tell her not to join, because she obviously doesn't get it. Science Olympiad is a big part of my life and I wish she would do it if she really wanted to, not just because she's like "Ok sure, this will look good on a college application."

Agreed, it's really addicting. I come to our classroom we use at lunch and breaktimes and I stay for like an hour+ after school just to work on it. The Ento Question Quiz on here is pretty addicting by itself, I just want to click "Next Question" forever and ever and ever.
