Hatchet is such a trashy book, I have no idea why it's so coveted.
And I could not make it through Great Expectations. xD It's so dull.

I was actually going to pick up an Ayn Rand book today. Maybe next week. Objectivism is just impractical and I couldn't care less about it, but I think I should have either Atlas Shrugged or The Fountainhead under my belt.

I'm reading Brave New World right now, and it's really fun. Everything is backwards.

I've never read anything by Rand, but after playing Bioshock I kind of want to, since so much of that game is based off of her ideas. Although I disagree with Rand's opinion that altruism is evil, I'd rather live in an objectivist society than a communist one any day.

That's not really saying much. But yeah, I guess I'd have to agree.

Another horrible book is Treasure Island. I can't remember if I mentioned that, but... Eurgh.

I loved Warriors growing up... Still haven't read all of them, but I've been meaning to.

Really? The last time I read Hatchet was in... third grade, maybe? I remember liking the series, though.

Ha, I've read all of the Warriors books many times over. I love them. But I used to be unhealthily obsessed. xD

Hatchet is just a pretty good book. Horribly overrated.

I will now proceed to denounce Warriors.

Okay, the first series and a half was fine. But once they started mass producing them, you just don't get quality out of it. Once you reached the third series, it's pretty much saturated and you can't go any further and they have to make up a whole lot of random stuff to do well. I quit in fifth grade after book 14. It was not good enough to spend 30 minutes reading one of those books.

Yeah, until "Dawn" or whatever it was called. It just kept on being the same story.

I have to agree with you on this one... Except for the statement about being mass-produced; what is that even supposed to mean? 99.9% of books are "mass-produced," as in, printed in a factory. That series went on a lot longer than it should have, but I think that it ended at an appropriate time nonetheless. I have to admit, that storyline was one of the original ones, and it's a cherished series overall. I enjoyed reading them a lot.

the Warriors series is written by three authors. A separate plot editor comes up with the plots, then distributes the plots to the three authors to convert them into words (which is how they're able to come out with a book every 3 months). The first 2 series of 6 were written by TWO authors who came up with their OWN ideas and collaborated together, and the plot editor was just their editor--then in order to increase revenue for themselves the editor now creates the plots and the writers fill it in with words.
