They GLUED the goals down.
Somehow, the rule wording was confusing.
Item 4.g : "The robot may move the goals, but the goals must remain inside the playing field in any zone."
I see the problem may have been the big syllable words, which resulted in the following translation, by a professor no less.
"We don't have a nail gun handy, so let's use epoxy."
It's amazing they didn't have little concrete filled pipes blocking access to the goals.

At least you won. It would've been terrible if you failed the event, because you definitely know what you're doing. You got first at nats in this event.

I mean seriously 1st place.......at Nationals!

I didn't mean to stop whining, I just meant that I feel bad that his performance was impacted by an event supervisor that had little to no clue. He could've done a lot better.

i just found out that we ended up getting lucky, too, because the second place team got 2:58, and we got 2:53. We decided to quit fighting with the goal and just hope that 7 seconds would help us, and well, it did...
i do understand what you guys are saying
