Today I learned that if you force the desktop site on YouTube in Google Chrome on a Android phone, it will keep playing when you leave the tab.

That, and Adblock Plus on the channels that I don't want to watch ads on.

There's also Youtube Vanced, but that generally requires root (not too familiar with the non-root version thou).
