Just curious, but what is everyone's favorite thing to wear when dressing up for a formal event? (So types of clothing like dresses and suits, what color, design, accessories, etc.)

Depends on how formal. If it's superformal, I'll wear my one and only suit (black and boring); if it's less formal, I'll probably wear some derivative of a polo or buttondown and khakis (or nice-ish jeans, if I think I can get away with it...)
Usually I avoid formal events, because the only purpose of being at a formal event is standing around and talking.
