Re: Scrambler C
So at my regionals the proctor did the distance in 1 meter increments based on 9, 10, 11... (but only 3 possible distance seem too small.), but the way I see the rule it should be 8.7, 9.7, 10.7... they both seem right to me when I thought about it. But the reason I bringing this up is what should I expect at state 8 ,8.5, 9, 9.5... or 8.7, 9.2, 9.7, 10.2...

Re: Scrambler C
Whoa! I would've been ticked! The rules plainly state the distances to be 8.7, 9.7, 10.7 & 11.7 and this is what most have practiced.

Re: Scrambler C
Same, but I practiced both just in case the proctor pulled something stupid. Which my state's proctors are known to do.

Re: Scrambler C
Ours did that too at first, but they changed it when the mistake was pointed out to them.

Re: Scrambler C
Ya my proctor basically acted like I was wrong even though I proved him wrong twice. And I will infer that mean I should expect 8.7, 9.2, 9.7a,... etc. at state

Re: Scrambler C
I've given up on proctors at my school.
Last year, for Gravity Vehicle, the proctor didn't read the event rules, and until I pointed it out to them, didn't do the height score.
The good thing is, apparently everyone before us sucked.

Re: Scrambler C
I would assume 8.7, 9.2, etc. because having it stop at 8 would technically have it stop before the run time could be determined.jacobxc wrote:what should I expect at state 8 ,8.5, 9, 9.5... or 8.7, 9.2, 9.7, 10.2...

Re: Scrambler C
I was wondering what the relative scores are in the sense of what exactly counts as good?

Re: Scrambler C
You said it, a good score is "relative". You will really start seeing this at the State level. Each of one regions top 4 teams may perform considerably better than the number one team from another region. At the state level for this event I am sure that the top 3 will have scores in the 20-50 range.

Re: Scrambler C
Ah man, I just bought a 3/8'' aluminum rod for my body, but the clamps i ordered along to hold it in place are too large for the rod (i misread the dimensions).
Any ideas on how to salvage the situation? My states competition is in 4 days, and there's not enough time to order online.
