I've never been to a competition with Syosset, so I wouldn't know, but I've always said SYO-set.

I believe the term is recording. I believe the question was originally along the lines of a scioly convention. Is it plausible?

Certain people (such as myself) have a sensitivity to certain aldehydes in cilantro that also appear in dish soaps. To most people, cilantro has a pleasant tangy/citrusy flavor but others think it tastes like dish soap.
