I'm not sure; they aren't from my team, they're from the other school in our district. They come to some of our Saturday/vacation practices, though, which is how I saw this. All I know was that it was some form of flexible, translucent plastic sheets.
Also, they didn't alter the CD itself, I don't think.

I don't think they're using that one in competition, though, because evidently their coach built it for them just as an example.

we use a normal round fan for practice because the school doesnt have a box fan T_T but anyway if we get 1 volt on something with that same blade and the same distance but using a box fan about how much would we get now?

No, it wasn't ours that was so good, it was Murphy's- and I don't think they're using that one. It certainly wouldn't be fair if they did, since their coach built it for them.

Not only is it not fair, it is against the rules. (The Spirit of the Rules clause) I think. Right?
Science Olympiad is a tribute to Murphey's Law. This has been proven experimentally.
And no, I'm not a guy...even though my sig says will robsinson. It's a reference to Lost in Space, an ancient sci fi TV show. And the robot is the character who always says the line.

Maybe you could go out and buy a box fan?
