Because there are a great deal of clues, and because both WTLF and I are a bit busy at the moment (yeah, I know, i know, you haven't heard that one before), we will be releasing clues one by one, starting with clue number one!
This was more of a preliminary clue, and we gave about a month(?) or so to solve it, so we made sure to make it HARD.Assassinator wrote:Very well then, my friend. Do not fret, for the game shall begin on the first of November. We are sure you will have a splendid time.My Dearest Sciolyan wrote:My most sincere appologies, but I simply am unable to make it this October.
Until then,Good luck.GIFT wrote: FROM: The Hawks of Hamburg, NY

Given to you most graciously is a new twist on an old classic...
...Well, maybe not exactly a twist. How about a... curve?
The "Hawks of Hamburg, NY" actually referred to the mascot for Hilbert College, NY. The phrase "How about a... curve?" put together with this statement would jump out to any fractal-lover as a Hilbert Curve, which could be used to map strings into three dimensions with it's space-filling pattern. Mapping the string of characters using the pattern, you would be given an 8x8 square. The "64not81" in the link refers to comparing it to a 9x9 square. This causes the conclusion that this is a Sudoku puzzle, looking at the pattern. Solving the puzzle would leave you with many numbers that correspond to the "O"s, but four that correspond to the "X"s. In order, arranging the "X" numbers against the "XX9XX" pattern would yield the number "21988". Five-digit numbers are used by the site to "ID" users in the order in which they joined the site. Using the link "memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=21988" with the user number, you arrive at the page for birdylayaduck08.
Yup, this one was pretty overkill, but we wanted something that hopefully kept you guys working for a month. Unfortunately, this clue went unsolved, and we continued the target for the next clue.
