I remember a year or two ago Keeper of the Lost Cities was fairly popular... Trials of Apollo... I think Red Queen isn't new, but it's been popular...Schrodingerscat wrote: ↑March 28th, 2020, 9:16 pm I'm randomly pondering again: What's new (and popular) in YA fiction these days? Is anyone up for creating rules for a Quantum Mechanics/Physics event, I'm willing to create rules for the trial event, but I was wondering if there is any support up for making rules for it (Since I've personally made a new event), and well as submitting it as an official Science Olympiad trial. Any thoughts or considerations?JoeyC wrote: ↑March 28th, 2020, 7:56 pmActually, I'm sure most teams have a couple quantum physics nerds on them. I know we have at least 2, probably 3.MoMoney$$$;)0) wrote: ↑March 28th, 2020, 7:08 pm Anyhow, I think this a good idea with a good concept in mind, but it would be hard for most teams to get good participants for it, and the scores for like the top teams would be like 25%. Also, more of a question to put into 2020-2021 events, so I'll pull it in there.

If you want to do it, I'd consider it. I'd be interested in the event... but then again, it'd have to be pretttttyyyyy easy in terms of quantum mechanics so that lower teams at least have some shot and the event isn't skewed right too bad. Up to youMoMoney$$$;)0) wrote: ↑March 29th, 2020, 12:27 pmIs anyone up for creating rules for a Quantum Mechanics/Physics event, I'm willing to create rules for the trial event, but I was wondering if there is any support up for making rules for it (Since I've personally made a new event), and well as submitting it as an official Science Olympiad trial. Seems like quite a stretch to consider either of these "new", in this context, seeing as both are older than The Hunger Games (and Mistborn Era 1 actually finished the same year Hunger Games started).JoeyC wrote: ↑March 29th, 2020, 10:47 amMistborn/Cosmere books.
